The portrait of the "Black Madonna" is presented to President Johnson to mark the 1000th anniversary of Christianity in Poland and the 175th anniversary of the Polish Constitution. MS. President Lyndon Johnson signing a proclamation giving the day the title 'Poland's National and Christian Millennium Day'. He signs with various pens and these are given to youths in national dress.
