1920s prototype of the modern day fax machine is demonstrated - man "faxes" his wife a cheque.
Shots seem to be out of order. Possibly an unedited story.
M/S of man with a large moustache standing beside a wooden contraption holding up what look like photographic negatives. C/U of part of the machine. (shot spliced in upside down?) Various shots of the machine - a roller rotates. C/U of man looking at one of the pictures. He wraps it around the roller and lowers a catch. He then turns on the machine and lowers a reading device onto it. M/S of the man seen earlier. C/U of a little girl being shown a photograph. Another shot of the little girl being shown a photograph by her mother - they seem to be acting "excited". Quick shot of the machine. M/S of the girl and her mother watching the machine as it rotates. C/U of the moustachioed man taking a picture off one of the rollers. He holds the picture up to the camera. C/U of the photograph - a soldier in uniform or possibly a member of the royal family (difficult to make out but looks like the Prince of Wales).
C/U of a picture being fed into the machine. The wheel rotates. M/S of woman receiving the picture on another machine. Woman takes picture off the roller and looks at it. C/U of a piece of paper with a message from her to her husband. "Dear Hubby. I have seen a dream of a hat - and only a paltry ten pounds. Without this dream life seems a nightmare. So do come to the rescue. Your Wifie xxx" C/Us of the machine in operation. C/U of the woman wrapping her note around the roller - the daughter looks on. She winds the handle at the side of the contraption. M/S of man standing beside a table with the receiving machines. Various shots of the machines and a C/U of the moustachioed man. C/U of a cheque for ten pounds made out to "Wifie" - the signature reads "Perhaps Nott". C/U of picture being held up to the camera. C/U of woman reading the cheque and laughing.

Note: this invention could be seen as the forerunner of the fax machine.
