Britain basks in the heat wave of July 1928 as we see children paddling in the Thames at Greenwich.
Full titles read: "PHEW! - All Britain basks in glorious sunshine... and wherever there was an expanse of water... there were the kiddies!" (New title) "...Brighton?... Margate?... Yarmouth?... no... Greenwich-"on-Sea"."
Various shots show children paddling in the River Thames at Greenwich; families sit on the bank, knitting and enjoying the sun. Most of the children have their clothes tucked into their knickers; most people are fully dressed, some old ladies in long black dresses - they must be roasting!
Note: Whitaker's Almanack says Britain was in a heat wave in July 1928, with temperatures in London reaching 91 degrees Fahrenheit.
