    Testing petrol at Sunbury-on-Thames, Middlesex.

    M/S man in white coat using machine to check Wolseley 4/50 car's distributor. He gives it to a mechanic who fits it back in car. Various shots mechanic checking cylinders under bonnet for compression using instrument with gauge. Various shots men in white coats (research engineers) attaching bicycle wheel to back of car (it is actually an instrument to measure speed, called a "electronic tachometer"). Various shots men placing instruments inside car, including several small tanks of new type of fuel.

    Two men with clipboards and white coat get into car. They drive off with bicycle wheel still attached to rear bumper. The man in the passenger seat leans over and attaches a pipe to fuel tank on back seat. The fuel goes through pipe from small tank to large tank. The man in the passenger seat makes more notes on clipboard. Various shots car driving down deserted road.
