  • Description

Titles read: "PETROL - PERMITS PERMITTING" (Dublin issue).

Washington DC (?), United States of America.

High angle M/S of a queue of people outside a city building for petrol ration cards. Inside, we see people sitting at desks and filling out forms for their petrol permits - A for 3 gallons and B for 8 gallons. A lady in a pretty flowered hat pulls up at a petrol station in an open car and shows her permit. A man says to the pump attendant "OK, it's an A card. 3 gallons". Quick montage of shots showing army vehicles, aircraft and tanks - "For them, the great petrol reserves must be kept intact".
