    Documentary film covering visit of the Ambassador of Persia (Iran) to a turbine factory.

    Ext. views of factory. The Persian flag flies above the factory. MV The Ambassador arrives and doffs his hat at the camera. CU signs on wall "The National Gas and Oil Engine Co Ltd. Associated British Oil Engines (Marine) Limited". The Ambassador is greeted.

    Tracking shot from crane along length of factory floor showing work on large machines. VS as the Ambassador is shown around the factory - he looks at machines and turbines and chats to workmen. Good shots of manufacturing machines working.

    Ext. Wirrlees Bickerton & Day Ltd (also part of Associated British Oil Engines). CU of name plate. The Ambassador is greeted and shown round the factory. Again scenes of the manufacture of large engines. Massive drills bore out cylinder holes. Various shots during tour.

    More shots at a different factory where very large electricity turbines are built. The Ambassador and party are shown round. Various CUs of smaller parts. VS of turbine control panels being made. The Ambassador drives a little battery powered cart. VS demonstration of artificial lightening maker. VS of ambassador looking at electric locomotives and driving one out of loco shed along railway line.

    This clip shows the National Gas and Oil Engine Company in Ashton under Lyne, Mirrlees Bickerton and Day Ltd, Hazel Grove Cheshire, and Brush at Loughborough. It is probably the mid 1950s
