Peace Pageant - really a War pageant - children; soldiers; put on a World War One re-enactment - sort of a war medley on a grand scale.
Location of events unknown / unclear.
Pan on group of children in costumes & uniforms of various nations. Then 5 of these pose with large flags - USA & Belgium. MS open area in park; with spectators in stands in background, pan left on crowd. 2 girls in angel costumes walk towards each other in front of a huge screen; wave wands; screen comes down. Cut to elaborate tableau representing the nations of the world.
Teenage boy cadets - Army & Navy - march back & forth past tableau; curtain rises again. 4 men in medieval costumes blow horns; walk towards camera. Crowd in park waving in front of huge set piece; model of troop ship. Troops march past; with girls; small children walking along. Departure; crowd waving as soldiers board ship. Curtain up. Mock battle montage: Soldiers (real ones) charge; run across park; in background, smoke bombs go off.
Cavalry gallop to left. Soldiers in kilts run & drop to ground. 3 men lift wounded soldier onto stretcher. Soldier rescues a wounded comrade; in background painted scenery of ruins; etc. at the front (with children peeking through opening in canvas!). MS Navy officers walk past some sailors. Refugee scene in pageant - priest carries little girl past ruins; more girls follow; clinging to each other & crying.
