"On the Continent today, even the smallest pupils are receiving carefully graded physical training - " M/S of two children walking down a device which seems to be forcing their legs outwards. It is a slatted walkway which looks very painful to walk along in bare feet. Cruelty to children!

"This method is good for tiny tots' "tootsies"!" C/U of their feet as they walk along this instrument of torture. M/S of the children being encouraged to walk - they don't look too happy. "Helping balancing..." Nursery nurses assist in sending children down a slide. A young toddler turns the handle of a cine camera beside the slide. Four children go down the slide together, the front child is crying.

"In future, when Johnny returns with torn trousers, he'll have a good excuse - "balancing"!" C/U of child climbing up the slide - very cute. "And for older pupils, these advanced flexibility and neck exercises." M/S of girls swinging on rings hanging down from a frame. A male teacher assists. One girl balances on the swing just by her neck, the teacher pushes her backwards and forwards.
