The two clips of members of the Duke of York's Royal Military School were actually taken at Saunton Sands,N.Devon, not Dover Kent. I was a member of this School from March 1942 to March 1946, at Saunton.
Glen Miller says
I am puzzled by the reference to Dusty Miller as Lightweight British Army champion. My uncle, Derek 'Dusty' Miller was Heavyweight Champion of South India and then All-India Heavyweight Champion (1952?). He joined the Royal Indian Navy in 1942 where his boxing career started - and turned professional in 1952. The man in the film clip is not my uncle and I wonder if it is possible there were two Dusty Miller boxing champions?
