    Oval Cricket Ground Used By Army For Training.

    World War One - home front/ sports. Shots of the Oval Cricket Ground used by the military and during a cricket match. GV looking diagonally over the grounds; w/ 2 signs in FG: one gives directions to Vauxhall Station for the Railway; a long paragraph follows on the accessibility of the Oval by train; from various points in the London area. The other sign is another transportation advertisement: Travel by Underground Electric Railway etc. On the grounds in BG there are soldiers standing or walking about. Pan right.: horses stand on edge of grounds; and large field guns - - artillery equipment. Before War: looking out over edge of field w/ crowd packing the stands. Then; cricket match in progress; w/ spectators in BG. Closer version of same shot as 1st; w/ part of sign in FG; Army stuff on grounds. GV a group of soldiers posing; on top of wall or roof of low structure at the Oval; they are in a casual mode - -1 guy even has his jacket unbuttoned! Some of this also on ON 417 F.
