Out takes (rushes, cuts) for Le Mans Special - unidentified group, possibly Colour Pictorials.
Cuts (rushes, out takes) for "Le Mans Special "- they may relate to Colour Pictorial item called "Twenty-Four Hours at Le Mans" or a documentary called "Twenty-Four Hours to History" - see other records. Pathe seem to have shot enough footage to make both the documentary and the Pictorial item.
There are several other cuts (?) for this story on Pathe Master tape *PM0205*, which contains several other unidentified items.
Several shots of cars racing round the track. Some men in Dunlop boiler suits are given huge bunches of gladioli flowers, presumably they are prize winners; they hold the flowers aloft and wave to the crowd.
A man appears to be burying a car in sand by the track, perhaps so the tyres can grip to move off. A man waves the chequered flag as cars whizz by. L/S of the men about to run to their cars to start the race; M/S of one man running and jumping into his car. Nice shots of the crowd watching the cars zip by. Brief shot of a wrecked car being dragged from the track.
Any information about the drivers featured and the year of the race would be gratefully received.
