  • Description

Cuts (rushes, out takes) for stories in Colour Pictorial - CP 425. The original stories and reel 2 of the cuts are on Pathe Master tape *PM0219*.

Cuts for story CAMPING IN SNOW in CP 425. Similar footage to cut story about scouts on a camping trip in the snow; brief shots show the scouts and master tramping through the snow.

Cuts for story WINTER PARK SCENES AT WISLEY in CP 425. Similar footage to cut story showing people playing hockey and skating on a frozen lake, sledging down a snowy hill and generally trying not to fall over! Looks like great fun. We also see a black man working the snow plough.

Cuts for story ANIMALS IN THE SNOW in CP 425. Similar footage to cut story about animals at Chessington Zoo coping with the freezing winter of 1963. Red Deer are seen being fed by a young man; a woman feeds ducks, swans, seagulls and pigeons on a partly frozen lake - lovely shots. C/Us of signs in the snow reading 'Ministry of Works / No Parking' and 'Danger / Any person going on the ice is liable to a fine of five pounds'. More animals are seen at the zoo; Polar Bears, flamingos, seals huddled together in their pond, Coypus, lions and tigers. A lovely black cat is seen walking gingerly then scampering through deep snow.

Cuts for story WINTER WONDERLAND in CP 425. Similar footage to the cut story as dancing girls from Murray's Club perform sections of a number where they are dressed as reindeer in fluffy, sparkly, skimpy costumes. A few shots from behind a couple watching the show as a waiter pours their champagne.

Great footage here of Britain in the middle of the freezing winter of 1963. See original stories for more of the same.
