Out takes (rushes, cuts) for SILVER GIRL and ARMY RAILWAY in CP 354.
Cuts (rushes, out-takes) for two of the three stories in Colour Pictorial - CP 354. The original stories are on Pathe Master tape *PM0157*.
01:42:01 to 01:46:35 cuts for story SILVER GIRL in CP 354. C/U of the mantelpiece in Dian's studio. Various shots of silversmith, Dian going through the processes of making a silver medallion - pretty much similar to the cut story. However, there are some revealing unguarded moments where Dian makes mistakes and giggles at the camera. There are also some more extreme C/Us of her finished work - pendants set with precious stone, cuff links and broaches.
01:46:35 to 01:51:17 cuts from story ARMY RAILWAY in CP 354. M/S of a man clambering up on top of a steam engine and opening up the cap to the water tank. Various shots that are very similar to the cut story. C/U of the wheels of a locomotive called 'Caen', panning shot to the front of the engine - it seems to be shunting some sort of crane. More shots similar to the original. Longer sequence taken from inside the cabin of the train driver as he drives the steam engine. C/U of two soldiers sitting inside the carriage of the train watching the countryside move past - completely unlike anything in the original. Nice low angle M/Ss of the steam train travelling along the track - also different to the cut story.
