Royal inspection of the Home Fleet - nice shots of an aircraft carrier and a bit of propaganda thrown in.
Full title reads: "Weymouth. Our Sailor King - ... Vice Admiral The Prince of Wales and Lt. The Prince George, visit and inspect the Home Fleet."
Quick pan across battleships of the British naval home fleet gathered of Weymouth. Lots of ships. One of the ships fires its guns in salute. An older style boat sails in front of the fleet (is this an early Royal Yacht?). One of the warships fires a salute. Sailors line the decks. The older ship raises signal flags. Shot on board one of the ships showing sailors and Royal Marines standing on the deck. More shots of ships with Union Jack flags flying and sailors lining decks. Three cheers can be heard.
A rowed launch pulls up alongside on of the ships. King George V is piped on board the ship. He inspects a rank of Royal Marines. The Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII, Duke of Windsor) and Prince George (Duke of Kent) walk along deck.
The King and a naval officer stand in front of biplanes of the Fleet Air arm on the deck of an aircraft carrier. They walk up steps to a viewing platform. They are followed by the Prince of Wales. Good shots of the planes revving their engines on the deck of the carrier. The first of the planes takes off. The Royal party are seen watching. Good shot of another plane taking off. A plane comes into land on the deck, men run alongside to slow it down.
View from the deck of a heavily armed warship looking up to see its large guns. Atmospheric shot of ships off Weymouth. Good clouds and sunset. Night shots. Lights illuminate ships off the coast.
C/U of a poster on a postbox reads: "Convert your 5% War Loan - and help the country to Better Times. Do it now." A hand places an envelope in the box. (Picture runs out before sound)
