Large artillery guns are demonstrated in the U.S.A.
United States of America. "Blessed is he who speaketh softly but keeps at home a big stick. A glimpse of Uncle Sam's new Mortars." L/S of what is presumably a military training camp. Large guns are being fired. C/U of men loading and firing large artillery. The men aren't in uniform. Men run backwards and forwards with ammunition. C/U of the end of one of the big guns. The gun moves upwards and towards the camera. The following words are just about readable on the end of the gun.
"121N. No 37 Ord. Dept. U.S.A. M 1895 Watervliet (sp?) Arsenal 1900" L/S of the gun on a high platform. The gun is fired, then lowered. Men rush to open the back of the gun - there is a man inside! He is helped out.
Was probably a Pathe Pictorial item - issue number not known.
