  • Short Summary

Footage of the King and Queen inspecting soldier and visiting factory.

  • Description

Our busy King and Queen. Location of events unknown.

World War One; royalty. King George V & Queen Mary talking to some men; then they walk toward camera and off left; followed by a group of both military and civilian; local dignitary types etc. Next a similar bunch coming by left to right. Then good shot of a crowd of working-class men standing behind ropes and on up some steps facing camera; all waving their hats and cheering -- guy at bottom left is really boisterous about it; sort of bobbing up and down with each wave of his cap.

A lot of them are elderly men. The King & Queen walk past row of soldiers; accompanied by Army officers and a nurse. Then quick shot of them standing on a platform; with a couple empty chairs; a little boy stands facing King. Next; they tour a factory or something where a lot of women are working - some kind of war work. The women have stacks of wrapped packages that look like 5lb flour packages.
