Four men are leaning over a map spread over car bonnet in the dark. They contact a factory and after short consultation 'operation pea harvest' begins. Peas are ripe for harvest for only seven weeks so it is crucial to freeze them fast tells voiceover.
Various shots of peas being harvested - machines picking, shelling and sorting them. Now they are ready for a factory. Peas are washed, tested for tenderness in 'tenderometer'. After passing the test,peas are ready to be frozen. Various stages of the industrial process are shown. In the 'computer room' a man wearing white coat and hat points out at something on huge and far too technical board with lots of lights - three other men operate some sort of control board - all men look very young.
Peas are cleaned frozen, packed into bags, bags in cardboard boxes which are stored at minus 15 C and ready to go to shops.
