    Men sitting on motorbikes, lined up for the start of a race. Crowd of people look on.

    L/S motorbiker riding his bike up a steep and sandy slope. People crowd around on either side to watch. The rider falls over half way up.

    Closer shot of another rider attempting the climb, he too fails.

    Shot from half way up the hill as rider attempts the climb. The camera follows him as he passes. He falls over as he gets further up. A member of the crowd runs out to help him.

    Shot from bottom of hill as rider makes attempt. Shot half way up as he continues his ascent. Shot from top of hill as he rides over the summit.

    This event took place on Portsdown Hill, Porsmouth in Hampshire in Feb 1932. It was known as "Yulekonk" (You'll Conquer). My father who is in the line up of riders was Reginald Clark. He and one other managed the ascent to the top. I own the silver cup he received for the event in 1932 and have newspaper article about the event written in 1972? The other rider who won the cup was W. Waring in 1929 and 1930 inscribed on the cup. I hope this imfrmation is useful. I am happy to be contacted by my email
