    C/U American stars and stripes flags and the French tricolour fly together.

    Dissolve to large stone statue. A crowd is gathered around the base of the war memorial of which the statue is part. Tilt up the statue. Camera holds on the face of the female figure.

    A military bands plays the French and American national anthems. Soldiers stand to attention in ranks. C/U of some of the soldiers.

    Mr Walter Edge, the United States Ambassador to France makes a speech from a podium.

    Cut away to French dignitaries. Cut away to French and American flags flying.
