• Short Summary

Musical turn by Bernard Dudley who sings about stoking the furnaces of a ship with coal.

  • Description

Bernard Dudley sings "Shovel on a Few More Coals." He is dressed as a coal miner and the set seems to represent part of a ship (the song is about a ship that is propelled by coal). C/U of Bernard as he sings. He makes the action of shovelling on a few more coals. He does a little monologue in the middle of the song of having a girl in every port. There is a lot about drinking in his monologue. It is a kind of comedy monologue (in the vein of "The Boy Stood On the Burning Deck") He then continues with his song. All footage is of Bernard himself doing his song.

Note: I don't think this is actually filmed at His Majesty's Theatre, looks more like a set.
