At London Airport a Boeing plane carrying US President Richard Nixon comes to a halt after landing. British Prime Minister Harold Wilson waits with other officials. Nixon comes down the steps of the aircraft followed by others in his party and is greeted by the Lord Chamberlain, Lord Cobbold. Nixon shakes hands with Wilson then makes short speech about the relationship between the United States and Great Britain, saying they share a common commitment to peace.

At the Prime Minister's home at Chequers, Buckinghamshire, we see Nixon walking about and looking at the fireplace and paintings in the Great Hall. Nixon and Wilson sit on chintz sofa and chat. Nixon touches Wilson's knee (!).

Exterior shots of Claridges, the President's London headquarters, with US Stars and Stripes flag outside. Inside, we see Nixon talking to Ted (Edward) Heath, opposition leader. Outside the hotel, a line of motorcycle policemen wait to escort Nixon to Downing Street. Nixon comes out of the building, gets into his bullet-proof car (specially flown in from America) and the motorcade starts off. They arrive at Downing Street. Nixon stands with Wilson outside and they point and wave at the photographers before going in.

Inside we see Wilson with Nixon and Foreign Secretary Michael Stewart and Mr Rogers, US Secretary of State. The motorcade takes Nixon to Buckingham Palace to meet the Queen. Interior shots of Nixon, accompanied by Wilson, being greeted by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip (Duke of Edinburgh). Shots of paintings on the walls of the Palace. The Queen and Nixon walk along chatting with Prince Philip, Princess Anne and Prince Charles walking along behind.
