The airliner tragedy reported in the first story here occurred on 9 December 1936.
The crashed plane was a Douglas DC-2.
Amongst those who died were the former Prime Minister of Sweden, Arvid Lindman, and also Juan de la Cierva, inventor of the autogyro, (as can be seen in Pathe clip 502.24).
