    London. M/S as Lord Tyrrell, the new film censor, steps out of his car and enters his office on Wardour Street. M/S interior of him behind a desk, he says he goes to the cinema once or twice a week and is interested in the future of the industry as it could be an instrument of great good.

    Southampton, Hampshire. C/U as Sir Edgar Britten makes a speech after being appointed commander of the Cunard liner "Queen Mary". He talks about developments over the years and says the first ship he was in charge of was 1000 tons, the Queen Mary is over 73,000 tons. Note: the first 8 seconds of the picture are missing.

    Franco-Italian border. L/S of railway carriages for cargo, M/S's showing they are locked. M/S of Gendarme and other people standing around outside. M/S of transport agency which is closed. M/S as men emerge from a newsagents with newspapers under their arm, these are the only things allowed over the border under the sanctions. M/S of train emerging from Morsini (?) tunnel, Gendarmes watch at the side.

    Caxton Hall registry office, London. M/S as the future Mrs Sammy Wragg arrives for her wedding to the jockey. M/S as other jockeys arrive, M/S as Sammy walks into the registry office. M/S as the couple emerge after their wedding and get covered in confetti. M/S of the couple. M/S of people outside Caxton Hall.

    New York, America (USA). L/S of the harbour, various shots as aeroplanes fly overhead. Some represent enemy bombers during a test to defend the city with smokescreens. Various shots as the smoke spreads out and covers the city in a haze.

    New York, America, (USA). M/S of American President Franklin D. Roosevelt, arm in arm with an unidentified man. He is going to vote and is asked his name by the official. He is followed by his mother and wife Eleanor. M/S of his mother in the voting booth. M/S of Franklin and Eleanor stood in front of it after they have cast their votes. C/U of his face.

    Heron Lake, Minnesota. America (USA). L/S of people gathered in cornfield for the corn husking competition. The horses and carts line up ready to catch the corn as it is thrown in. Various shots as they walk along the rows picking the husks. C/U of winner Ted Balko, M/S as everyone waves.

    Long Beach , California, (America USA). L/S as stuntman Milo Bircham swoops down in his aeroplane, he touches the ground briefly before taking off again. He deliberately drops one of his wheels then attempts to land on just one. M/S of Pathe cameraman filming him.

    10 Downing Street, London. Ministers gather for the first cabinet meeting in the new Government. M/S of Prime Minister, Stanley Baldwin, sat at a desk. Various shots of Lord Stanley, E. Brown, Sir Samuel Hoare, Sir J. Simon, Sir P. Cunliffe-Lister, J. H. Thomas and M. MacDonald arriving. Note: the soundtrack to this item is missing.
