    Lancashire. M/S of boxer Jackie Brown outside his house with his wife and little daughter, they laugh. M/S as he comes out of the house and they wave him off. M/S of his opponent Johnny King doing fretwork in his garage. C/U of his face, he smiles and talks. M/S as he points a photographic camera at the newsreel camera. C/U as he emerges from the gym with his wife, C/U of them together, they walk to their car and get in.

    M/S as old crocks, all built before 1904, emerge from a shed for the London to Brighton race. Various shots as they make their way along with the Palace of Westminster in the background. Various shots of the old cars. The last few seconds of the picture is missing.

    East End of London. L/S of fire at a gum factory, M/S of firemen fighting the raging fire and black smoke. M/S of charred remains of the building with flames still shooting out, the roof has collapsed. M/S as the firemen climb up the structure to continue their fight. Various shots of the structure. Various shots as lengths of hosepipe run from the fire engine into the building, despite the ferocity of the fire no one was hurt.

    M/S of Prince Albert, Duke of York, and Elizabeth, Duchess of York (later Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother) getting into a car which will take them to Buckingham palace for the christening of Prince Edward, son of the Duke and Duchess of Kent. Policemen hold the crowd back. M/S of Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent, followed by a nanny holding the new baby. M/S of Prince George, Duke of Kent, getting into the car. The car drives away and they wave to the crowds, people run towards the palace. Various shots as the cars approach and drive through the gates.

    Intertitle - 'In Paris King George of Greece lays wreath on tomb of Unknown Warrior.' France. M/S of King George II of Greece walking towards the tomb with General Politis, he lays a wreath and they all salute. M/S as the King signs the book of distinguished visitors. M/S as he walks along. M/S of Guard of Honour. C/U of the wreath and flame of remembrance.

    Liverpool docks, Merseyside. Various shots of the Spanish cargo boat which has been re-floated after fire gutted it. Various shots of it when it was on fire. M/S inside the boat. M/S of the twisted wreckage on the water.

    Note: the last two items do not appear to have been part of 'News in a Nutshell' originally. The item 'Greek Navy Takes the Oath to George II' is missing from this edition.
