    New pithead baths opened at Vane Tempest Colliery. L/S of colliery. M/S of coal miner wearing only his underwear. He sits in front of an open fire, in front of him is a tin bath full of water. He washes the coal dust off his body and head.

    M/S of Lord Londonderry (owner of the colliery) standing outside newly built baths. He gives a speech to a crowd before entering baths.

    L/S of miners walking away from colliery after hard day's work. We see them going into new baths. Various shots of miners using rows of showers (only heads and shoulders shown - no nudity!). M/S of miners dressing in front of lockers. M/S of miners leaving baths, all looking much cleaner than when they first went in.
