Naval ship in Devonport is given an overhaul for the New Year.
Naval ship in Devonport, Devon. Being given an early spring clean. Full title reads: "WELCOME 1920 - With loving care, Jack, in true navy style, gets his ship spick and span for the New Year." M/S Port side of large looking naval craft. There is a number of menacing gun turrets visible, mixed with the hustle and bustle of dockside workers and sailors busily preparing the ship. We can see men painting the hull of the ship, some stand on supported raised platforms. On the dockside a labourer walks past the gangplank carrying large sack.
M/S Two men painting the hull, sit precariously on a flat plank of wood which is suspended in mid-air by a piece of rope on either side, a tin of paint also attached to a rope swings from left to right between them. The camera pans slightly to the left to reveal another hardened looking painter.
Angled shot of Gun turrets pointing to the left. Man kneels on one of the larger turrets and delicately paints the barrel, whilst a colleague does the same underneath. There is also a number of sailors actively carrying out various chores.
C/U Looking straight down the nose of on of the large gun turrets. A sailor sits on the barrel, legs apart polishing the nozzle. He looks to his right and smiles (Perhaps sharing a joke with a fellow colleague).
