    Opening of National Kitchen with Boys' Brigade / army cadets' parade. Location of events unclear - probably London.

    Arrival of local officials at National Kitchen, between lines of boys in military uniforms. CU Mayor talking to army officer. VS boys in uniform marching down street led by few drummers & buglers - they look like like miniature soldiers. Crowds watch parade. Other boys, mostly younger run alongside the marchers. People crowded together in street - young kids, old ladies and some policemen. Officials walking past row of little cadets. CU National Kitchen menu with items including vegetable pasties, fish cakes and treacle sponge.

    Note: National Kitchen was started to help civilians save coal during World War One by doing less cooking at home.
