Just came across this by chance. This piece of film was shot in Denmark Hill, London, and relates to a widow with four children who was imprisoned for claiming national assistance without declaring some earnings. There was a big campaign objecting to her going to prison, and then to release her. Info can be found by searching 'Mrs Christos imprisoned' online. 'The Spectator' stated that in cases like this, it was the family who suffered. Her four children had to be cared for while she was in jail.
