    Corsair was built in 1899 for JP Morgan. She was chartered by the US Navy in 1917 and sent to France in June that year. Corsair returned to the US in May 1919 and was returned to Morgan on 9 June.

    As the shots list already says, this ship was "chartered" (i.e. commissioned) as USS Corsair in 1917 and decommissioned in 1919. The clip's current date range can therefore be reduced to 1917-1919.
