Crowds watch Baltic troops march out of Berlin; soldiers rest and eat on streets.

  • Description

Titles read: 'Germany - MORE PICTURES FROM BERLIN - Despite the display of force, including cannons on the streets, the "revolution" completely failed. Defiant in defeat, the Baltic Troops arrogantly "goose-step" out of the city.'

Shot of crowd massing in Berlin street; w/ German soldiers marching past in BG. Many civilians wave hats & cheer for the Army. Next; shot of German soldiers in front of building; some are sitting & eating; w/ stove set up behind them. LS same area; some of the soldiers recline on the pavement outside the Imperial Palace (?); looking like they're either homeless or camping out in line waiting to buy tickets for a rock music concert. Their rifles are propped up in pyramid shapes. Pan right showing more of soldiers & others surrounding the large building.

This is not from the Revolution in late autumn 1918, but definately from the so-called Kapp Putsch in March 1920 , an attempt at counter-revolution that failed. The soldiers are brandishing the old Imperial flag.
