Model trains being made - carriages are cast in plastic, rest is done by hand.

  • Description

    Part of STEPPING OUT issue.

    Leeds, Yorkshire.

C/U of model train. Various shots of model trains being made in a factory. We see the plastic carriages being made: powder is poured into casts which are baked in an oven. The rest of the process is done by hand. The excess plastic is trimmed from the carriages. The bogies, wheels, funnel and other fittings are added - looks like intricate work! The wheel mechanisms are tested with electrodes.
