C/Us of some of the models which are very small - the scale is one inch to one hundred feet. Every evening Mr Haws comes home from work with a travel organisation to model making by the fireside. The narrator observes: "It's more than a hobby with him - it is a passionate and painstaking life's work!"
C/U of Mr Haws hands as he prepares another model. The boats are made from cardboard and paper, they average a few inches in length. It is painstaking work.
Mr Haws picks up a book of boat illustrations to compare with his model.
One ship a week in Mr Haws' collection is given an overhaul. To do all those he has already will take 15 years.
