    Soldiers of Royal Engineers learn how to make maps under battle conditions. Various shots of soldiers in classroom being taught by Sergeant Instructor. Various shots of soldiers surveying a field.

    M/S of soldiers running through river under fire. M/S of despatch rider riding past camera, narrowly missing large explosion. The soldiers are on army exercise, although these shots could pass as real battle scenes.

    The despatch rider passes a message to team of surveyors working at desks outside hut. The surveyors using "computing machines" to process information in message. Various shots of mobile photography unit; we see aerial photographs being processed. Various shots of mobile printing unit van being prepared for use. Within minutes the printing units is producing maps.
