    Various shots of crowds of people waiting at a pit for news of men injured or killed in a mining disaster at Barnsley. Men walk up stairs carrying stretchers. Bodies are carried past the crowd on stretchers. A (Salvation Army?) man pours tea for the waiting people.

    Note: this may belong to a different issue.

    Amendment April 2016: A visitor to the site has written in to say they believe this footage is of Wharncliffe Woodmoor (1,2&3) Colliery at Carlton, near Barnsley. The footage is of the disaster there on 6 August 1936 when 58 miners lost their lives.
