Trades unionists and Communists celebrate May Day in America - 1937.

  • Description

Unused / unissued material - no paperwork - dates unclear or unknown

    United States of America.

Trade union members and other supporters parade down city street on May Day 1937. They carry banners and push a float with a call for 'Liberty' on it. People watch from the roadside. One float goes past with a comment about the Spanish Civil war. More shots of marchers. Some supporters on a podium give a clenched fist salute.

Shots of the march passing the podium led by a brass band.

Pan across crowd as they take an oath. Shot of man making speech, he calls on people to "defend comrades against imperialist war and to defend the Soviet Union". (Sounds a little Communist inspired).
