    "MAIGRET" STATUE UNVEILED.

    M.S. Train arriving at Delfzijl station. C.U. French author, Georges Simenon alighting from train. He wrote his first "Maigret" detective story in this town in 1929. Various c.u.s. of actors who have played the part of Maigret. Gino Cervi of Italy, Rupert Davies of Britain, Jan Theulings of Holland and Heinz Ruhmann of Germany. They are dressed in character and smoke pipes. M.S. The group on board a boat during their trip round harbour. Various shots as Simenon unveils a statue in honour of his Maigret creation which has been designed by the Dutch Pieter d'Hondt. CU's from statue to the actors for comparison.
