  • Description

Lord Leverhulme at Eisteddfod. Birkenhead, Merseyside.

Wales. Holidays; festivals; etc. Short scene from Eisteddfod festival; in which Lord Leverhulme; presiding over the festival; does some weird traditional bit; standing on top of a big slab of rock; holding a curved horn and wearing huge white robe with long decorated sash; etc. A harpist on ground to the right. Another robed figure comes and takes the horn; and women bring some sort of flora and set the bunches on the slab; crowd in BG. CU 3 old men walk toward camera; one in white robe; gold chain. Crowd in a variety of bizarre costumes. Looks like some pagan ceremony in progress. Shot of some women in traditional Welsh hats (like great big witches' hats but flat on top). Back to the Lord on the rock. ECU the 3 old guys; talking. Strange customs; ethnic; tradition; weird.
