    Field Marshal Sir John French (aka Lord French) , Chief of British Expeditionary Force, presents medals for good conduct at outdoor ceremony for various branches of the military. French, standing in front of a table manned by two officers, pins a medal on a soldier in army uniform, a row of sailors stand in background. Soldiers from various units (each wearing a different hat) step up one at a time to receive medals. They salute, shake hands, turn and walk off. The last soldier has been wounded, his arm is in a cast and sling.
