• Short Summary

Good item showing what a woman's chemical make-up consists of.

  • Description

Note: Probably filmed in the Pathe studio.

Several brief shots of young girls working on the farm, in the factories and dancing. M/S of scientist introducing Miss Leia Lee. The scientist makes Leia Lee stand next to a strange machine. He presses a button an electric bolt shoots out and with a bang and a puff of smoke the shocked women realises her dress has been removed.

With the aid of diagrams the commentator proceeds to inform us of the chemical make-up of her body. We are told that she is made up of ten gallons of water, enough phosphorus to make two thousand matches, enough iron to make two nails and contains enough fat to make seven bars of soap. She is also 'Sweet enough to make two pounds of sugar'.

Good diagram of a break down of the weight of her body. The commentator says "..we've worked out what that weight comes to at present prices." Just 3/6 ! M/S of the a man sitting close to Miss Lee he says "..You're worth your weight in gold !"

Note: this looks like the work of Joe Noble - it's fabulous! JH.
