Men of the US Coastguard try out new minimalist life belts - very bizarre!
Titles read: "Life Savers!"
United States of America.
Various shots of a line of men of the US Coastguard trying out a new life belt on the deck of a ship. The thin belts are worn over their chests (they're wearing just trunks). With a little pressure on the belt, a large balloon inflates from the belt. A Naval officer walks along the line and squeezes the balloons - bizarre!
The men dive into the water from a small launch boat. They float about in their life belts, looking like bullfrogs!
Note: I think this is the film that Ron Saunders always found so hilarious - weren't these called Mae West lifevests or something similar? JH - 2002.
