  • Description

Item title reads: " Life Risked To Prove Theory!. Inventor of "aerial lifeboat" leaps from a blimp 2,000 ft. up, with boat to be gas-inflated on way down. The experiment fails - & now the useless device has to be cast away. A wet - but safe landing. "I shall try again!""

    United States of America (USA).

An inventor leaps from a blimp 2000ft. up with boat to be gas inflated on the way down. L/S lots of people run along to restrain a large airship with long guy ropes as it floats a few feet up on an airfield. The mark 'US Navy ' can just be made out on the side. M/S as the inventor of the safety device, gets in, wearing parachute gear and carrying a package. C/U engine as it takes off. The gondola part looks like a boat. People can just be seen waving on board. C/U as the inventor, seen from the the airship, jumps. M/S of the parachutist as he makes his descent, with shots from air to ground, and air to air. He chucks the package away, and floats down to land smoothly in water. He has a white parachute C/U parachutist posing for the camera.
