A flashback look at the 1905 test match after seeing the Second Test of the 1930 series.
This is a duplicate of part of item 691.24 - check for best quality.
Issue book reads: "Lords. The Second Test. Glorious weather - thrilling cricket and K. S. Duleepsinhiji record breaking 173 - thrills record crowd." Flash-frame title.
This section of the item is in the Cricket reels held separately. Various shots of match. Seems to have been transferred at a slightly slow speed. M/S of King George VI meeting the team. More shots of match. Then more shots of King George VI meeting the teams (may be cuts - there seems to be some repetition of material).
Second part of story as per description below is NOT found on this copy.
Intertitle reads: "Let us - as only the Pathe Gazette can - take you back to Lords - 25 years ago - and the test match of 1905 ..."
Lords Cricket Ground, Middlesex.
Various shots of batsmen at the crease in 1905. Shots of men and women in the crowd.
Second intertitle missing - issue book suggests it should read:
"and 'conjure up' such famous cricket giants as: J. Darling, N. A. Noble, Clem Hill, Victor Trumper, W. W. Armstrong - luncheon interval 25 years ago - and today."
This may help to identify the players we see.
Sound Track Missing.
Note: old records also mention another cricketer J J Kelly. For search purposes: Kumar Shri Duleepsinhji, Joseph Darling, Clement Hill, Warwick Windridge Armstrong.
