    M/S of a middle-aged woman speaking on the telephone to a home help service. C/U of a sign on a door reading 'The Housewives' Help Service - Men Only Employed'. Inside we see the director of the firm, Major DR Burnet talking on the phone. He then hands the lady's address to his colleague Mr Bayliss who checks a large board showing the location of each 'handyman' they employ.

    A man arrives at the woman's door and we see various shots of him doing the housework while she sits in a chair reading a book and then a newspaper. The man makes the bed, vacuums the carpet and does the washing up. Commentator says the men employed by this firm are ex-servicemen and "It's claimed that the old soldiers work much better and more quickly than the average woman help".
