• Short Summary

Tenor Leonard Gowings sings about his sweetheart 'Down Vauxhall Way'.

  • Description

Full titles read: "And now "Pathetone" presents the Celebrated Tenor - Leonard Gowings - of Concert, Radio and Gramophone fame."

    London (probably Pathe Studios).

Various shots of tenor Leonard Gowings in tailcoat, standing beside his lady accompanist (Jean Melville) at the piano as he sings 'Down Vauxhall Way'. The shots are intercut with sequences showing ladies in old-fashioned (1830s?) dress, picking flowers in a garden, the sun breaking through clouds in the sky and flowers in parks. The song is about "the sweetest blossom" in Vauxhall - a special lady!
