  • Short Summary

Major Leith drives to Pakistan from Britain.

  • Description

    Quetta, Pakistan (formerly India).

Title: "LEEDS to QUETTA BY MOTOR. A good engine - occasional man power - sometimes donkey power, but above all, indomitable pluck, enabled Major Forbes-Leith to accomplish hazardous 8,250 miles journey".

M/S of a convertible motor car driving along the tracks of a railway line. M/S of the same car, two men tether several donkeys to the front bumper to drag the back wheels out of a bog. M/S of the car being pushed along a dusty track, a man sits behind the wheel - Forbes Leith? -, several men push from behind and ten or so men drag the car along using ropes (the men all wear turbans - could it be India?).

Intertitle: "At Quetta - 'Felix', Mascot throughout the journey, shared in the congratulations".

C/U of two white men in safari helmets pointing and laughing at a battered Felix the cat doll attached to the front of the bonnet, the background Pakistani men wave at the camera.

Note: please refer to record for - FELIX GOES TO INDIA - in G 1082 for shots of Leith at the start of his epic journey.
