    Reducing the clip's current date range of 1940-49, the launch took place in January 1944

    "M/S of the bow of the new ship 'Carole'" - the ship is actually called the "SS Carole Lombard", (indeed "Carole Lombard" can be fully seen on the bow).

    Also visible on the launching platform are, at 00:25, movie producer Louis B Mayer, then at 00:27 Mrs Walter Lang, Lombard's former secretary.
