Reel 3 Max Sennett is proclaimed to be the Granddaddy of 1920s comedy films. But, Sid points out that in 1904 Britain produced great comedy films. An extract from an unnamed film is shown. Lots of slapstick stuff - chase scenes, falls, man on electric roller skates, policemen getting knocked over, camera tricks, etc. Will Hay is seen - still in his nurses outfit, being pulled along on a cart behind a car. Much funny business with flying chickens and pigs as the vehicle goes through a farmyard. Car crash occurs.

A scene from the film "My Wife's Family" follows. Ronnie / Ronald Shiner gives mother-in-law Fabia Drake a short sharp lesson on the piano. They sit on top of a runaway piano which travels through the streets at great speed with humorous results.

Scenes from "It's In The Air" with George Formby. George loses control of the plane he is flying. The plane does loop-the-loops and various hair-raising stunts. George is proclaimed to be a brilliant pilot because it looks like he knows what he is doing. His operator jumps out and lands in a sewage farm.

Sid praises British comedy filmmakers. The last clip is from "The Lavender Hill Mob". Alec Guinness and Stanley Holloway feature in a police chase scene. Various shots of the chase and the police control centre. A huge car crash occurs - all the police cars smash into each other.
