A group of bright young things go Lance fishing in Cornwall.
Intertitle reads: "And quite a nifty way of collecting breakfast. The weapon..." followed by a C/U of a long metal hook attached to a wooden handle. The tool is turned around for the camera.
The following scenes were shot by the "Lizard Cliffs" (Cornwall?) in the darkness. Three girls in swimsuits, swimming hats and cardigans walk gingerly down the side of some cliffs. One holds a lantern, another a basket. Two men follow - one in shorts, the other in trousers. The group of friends stand together and point into the distance. They walk off into the darkness.
Intertitle reads: "Then the rapid back-aching search for Mr. Lance-fish, who hides just below the surface of the sand." The group are seen bending over moving towards the camera scraping their hooks through the sand. Fish are scooped up and popped into the basket. Activity seems to become more frantic as the tide comes in. The girls laugh and hold up fish to the camera. Intertitle reads: "The morning after the night before" (spliced in back to front). C/U of the lance fish strung together very neatly in order of descending height!
Note: flashframe intertitles.
