    World War One. 'Navvies' battalion prepare Alexandra Palace for the reception of German prisoners. Labourers carrying logs; boards and sawhorses; as officer gives orders. Men loosen the ground with shovels and picks; large palace building up hill in background. A lot of men at work: some standing on some sort of platform and knocking in posts with sledgehammers; while others stand below holding the poles in place; again; the palace in BG. Construction; building; strength.
