The execution took place on October 24, 1946, and took place in the grounds of Pankrac prison.

Daluege made two late suicide attempts to escape his punishment - firstly there was an attempt to smuggle poisoned cigarettes in to his cell, which was foiled. Then just hours before his hanging he attempted to slit his wrists with slivers of a broken soup bowl, however he was found by prison guards.
